On 23 April 2026, the Second Harbin Institute of Technology Alumni Entrepreneurship and Innovation Summit for the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Industry, alongside the Lilac Robotics Full Industry Chain Conference, was successfully held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre (Futian). Over 200 HIT alumni, industry experts and representatives from across the country gathered to discuss new opportunities for the development of the robotics industry.
As one of the core events of the 2026 Robotics Industry Connect Summit (FAIR plus), this summit, based in Shenzhen—a hub of scientific and technological innovation—is guided by the principle of “pooling the strength of alumni to scale new heights in the industry”. It is dedicated to providing alumni with a high-quality platform for exchange within the robotics and artificial intelligence sectors, facilitating the exchange of ideas, the sharing of resources and mutually beneficial cooperation, thereby putting the strategy of building a technologically strong nation into practice through concrete actions.
During the summit, representatives from the National Research Institute for Natural Disaster Prevention and Mitigation under the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Hefei Intelligent Robotics Research Institute, Meituan’s Drone Embodied Intelligence Laboratory, Huacheng Industrial Control, Feiwotai, Mingpu Opto-Magnetics, Leqi Intelligence, and Agora Technologies, among other research institutes and industry-leading enterprises, delivered keynote speeches addressing industry pain points. Their presentations covered a wide range of cutting-edge technological areas, including robotics, embodied intelligence motion control, low-altitude logistics, nano-coating protection, electronic skin, dexterous hands, real-time Gigabit Ethernet communication, as well as the industrialisation of robotics, pathways to global branding for technology enterprises, and opportunities for ‘hard tech’ firms to position themselves in the capital markets. From core components to complete system integration, and from technological R&D to practical applications, the event comprehensively showcased the collective strengths and cutting-edge capabilities of HIT alumni in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence.
Whale-Dolphin Smart Computing,Haitai Express, Zhilixin, Meixin Testing, Dingdian Design, Sihai Consulting, Hejun Capital and other alumni service organisations, acting as supporting partners for the summit, will provide end-to-end support for the innovative development of alumni enterprises across a range of areas, including start-up services, business matchmaking, data-driven solutions, industrial design, public testing, brand globalisation and capital market strategies, offering comprehensive support throughout the entire business lifecycle.
The alumni in attendance unanimously agreed that robotics and artificial intelligence are currently at a critical juncture characterised by rapid technological advancement and the reshaping of the industrial landscape. They emphasised that alumni should fully leverage their accumulated expertise in key core technologies, strengthen collaboration and work together to collectively propel China’s robotics and artificial intelligence industries to new heights, thereby fostering an industrial ecosystem characterised by upstream-downstream coordination, collaboration between industry, academia and research, and cross-regional mutual support. In the future, we will continue to organise a series of themed exchange events in Shanghai, Nanjing, Hefei, Ningbo, Yangzhou and other locations, providing our alumni with a broader platform for entrepreneurship and innovation.

Over the past decade, China’s robotics industry has experienced rapid growth. As the world’s largest robotics market to date, China has validated the scalability and reliability of its domestically developed core components through large-scale industrial applications. Meanwhile, its overall robotics manufacturing capabilities are increasingly being exported to global markets.

At the same time, the robotics industry is integrating more closely with AI, experiencing a possible change in the technological paradigm: AI is moving from the information world to the physical world, and robots are moving from specialised intelligence to generalised intelligence. This process will surely brew and unleash more opportunities. Against this background, from 2025, Shenzhen Robotics Association (SRA), together with domestic and international academic authorities, industry elites, industrial organisations, as well as people from all walks of life who care about the development of the industry, will co-found the world's first robotics development and technology exhibition, FAIR plus, to promote global robotics development through supply chain and innovative technologies. We will take supply chain and innovative technology as the entry point to promote the development of the global body-intelligent robot industry.
