As embodied intelligence moves from the laboratory to the factory floor, and as the industry shifts from a “technological race” to the “challenge of mass production”, a major event bringing together the core players of the global robotics industry is delivering a significant achievement in mass production here in Shenzhen.

22–24 April, under the operational guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and with academic guidance from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly organised by the Shenzhen Robotics Association and Messe Stuttgart,FAIR plus 2026 Robotics Industry Networking Event, officially opened in Hall 9 of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre (Futian).

The scale of this year’s exhibition has doubled from 7,500 square metres in 2025 to 15,000 square metres, bringing together over 500 enterprises from across the industry chain, more than 50 core sectors of embodied intelligence, over 70 major concurrent events, and more than 200 leading industry figures, and is expected to attract over 2,500 overseas trade visitors and more than 50,000 trade visitors in total. Here, there are no isolated exhibition stands, only a closely-knit industry community; there is no empty hype, only the genuine journey and tangible achievements of robotics, from research and development through to mass production.

Mass production requires technological maturity and convergence. This exhibition brings together the world’s leading academic and industrial expertise, establishing a direct link between the laboratory and the factory, and addressing the core technical challenges involved in the mass production of humanoid and industrial robots.

At the international level, global industry leaders—including the Secretary-General of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), the Managing Director of the Automation and Robotics Division of Germany’s VDMA, and the President of the European Robotics Association—will share insights into global robotics market trends and opportunities for international cooperation; At the academic level, a team of leading domestic scholars spearheaded by Academicians Guo Lei and Chen Xin, in collaboration with the editorial board of *Science Robotics*, presented cutting-edge breakthroughs in biomimetic perception, general-purpose manipulation and large-scale embodied intelligence models; At the industrial level, key executives from companies including Tencent, UBTech, Yuejiang, Midea and Hikvision will analyse the commercialisation pathways and technological evolution of humanoid and industrial robots.

Concurrently, the *Shenzhen Robot Industry Development White Paper (2025)* was published and the *Research on “Robotics+” Application Innovation Scenarios* – two authoritative industry reports. It also launched the first National Safety and Emergency Rescue Robotics Competition and initiated the compilation of the *Service Robotics Application Technician* curriculum for schools, providing comprehensive guidance on policy, data, application scenarios and talent development to support the industry’s transition to mass production and commercialisation.

The ultimate goal of mass production is the market. With “demand driving supply” at its core, FAIR plus creates a precise and efficient platform for matching supply and demand, enabling technology to find its application and products to be converted into orders.

Held during the exhibition25 closed-door supply-and-demand matching sessions on collaborative innovation within the industrial chain, covering all scenarios including manufacturing, commerce and logistics, healthcare, elderly care services, commercial communities, and safety and emergency response. Major clients such as FAW Group, CNOOC, Vanke, Shenzhen Metro, Jomoo Kitchen & Bath, and Nanshan District People’s Hospital announced hundreds of genuine procurement requirements on site, whilst technology providers and clients engaged in precise one-to-one negotiations to finalise partnerships face-to-face.

Outstanding achievements in overseas partnerships: The Europe session will focus on supply chain coordination and technological cooperation between China and Europe, whilst the Asia session will feature the high-profile announcement of Thailand’s government procurement plan for 1,000 humanoid robots. Concurrently, one-to-one meetings will be organised with representatives from Switzerland, Japan, Silicon Valley in the US, the UAE and other countries, to open up global sales channels for Chinese robotics companies and facilitate the large-scale export of domestically produced robots.

 Joint Standard-Setting + Ecosystem Development 

 Laying a solid foundation for the long-term development of the industry 

 

 

 

 

Mass production is not a battle fought by a single company, but rather a collaborative effort involving the entire industrial ecosystem. FAIR plus has joined forces with leading organisations in the sector to build an infrastructure ecosystem that supports mass production, addressing the common challenges faced by companies during the mass production process.

With regard to joint standard-setting, in collaboration with organisations such as the China Information Association, TÜV Rheinland and the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has advanced the development of three national standards and two industry association standards, covering core areas such as embodied intelligence datasets, robotics training grounds and humanoid robot wiring harness components, with a view to establishing uniform specifications for mass production and securing a leading role in shaping industry standards; In terms of ecosystem services, Siemens Xcelerator provided digital manufacturing solutions, Jiali Creative shared a comprehensive guide on avoiding pitfalls throughout the entire process from prototyping to mass production, whilst ROSCon China and Open Source China fostered an open-source development ecosystem; TÜV Rheinland provided insights into compliance requirements for global expansion, offering end-to-end services covering everything from R&D and prototyping to mass production, and from domestic sales to global market entry.

Over the past decade, China’s robotics industry has experienced rapid growth. As the world’s largest robotics market to date, China has validated the scalability and reliability of its domestically developed core components through large-scale industrial applications. Meanwhile, its overall robotics manufacturing capabilities are increasingly being exported to global markets.

At the same time, the robotics industry is integrating more closely with AI, experiencing a possible change in the technological paradigm: AI is moving from the information world to the physical world, and robots are moving from specialised intelligence to generalised intelligence. This process will surely brew and unleash more opportunities.
