Product Description

HARP introduces a universal, plugin-based software framework that enables intuitive robot control through natural human hand motion. In combination with Haply’s Inverse3 haptic controller, robot motion is defined through direct spatial interaction. The operator guides the controller’s end-effector along a desired trajectory, which the robot follows in real time. Unlike traditional interfaces that break motion down into individual axes, HARP provides continuous 3D position and velocity input, enhancing intuitiveness, precision and user understanding.

Product Specifications

The increasing use of robotics and physical artificial intelligence highlights a persistent challenge in automation: robot control and programming remain largely the preserve of highly specialised experts. This limits flexibility and slows adoption across industry and research. The Human Advanced Robotics Platform (HARP) addresses this challenge through a plugin-based software framework that enables robots to be controlled via natural human hand movements. HARP provides a common interaction layer between users and robotic systems, independent of the robot manufacturer or application domain. Building on experience from surgical robotics and haptic system design, HARP combines precise motion control with force feedback through Haply’s Inverse family of haptic controllers. This enables direct spatial manipulation, allowing operators to intuitively guide robot motion, record task executions, and replay them as automated workflows after a short familiarisation period. HARP, combined with high-resolution sensing technology, enables stable real-time force feedback and reliable perception of interactions, supporting precise manipulation and consistent data generation. The platform’s modular architecture simplifies integration through robot-specific plugins configured within a unified 3D environment. This reduces setup effort, supports redeployment, and facilitates use across industrial and research applications. One controller. Many machines.

Company Profile

Haply Robotics

Haply Robotics is dedicated to developing high-performance human-robot interaction technologies that enable intuitive and precise control of robotic systems. Headquartered in Montreal, Canada, the company’s research and development is grounded in applied physics and robotics, with a particular focus on real-time haptic feedback as a key enabling technology. The core component of Haply’s solutions is the Inverse series of force feedback controllers. This series of devices combines a wide effective workspace with high positional resolution and high update rates. The architecture enables stable, real-time haptic interaction, allowing users to reliably perceive contact and dynamic forces during operation, whilst maintaining precise feedback even in demanding human-robot closed-loop scenarios. Recent R&D progress and early application projects indicate that Haply is transitioning from standalone haptic devices to complete system-level solutions. Through collaboration with research institutions, universities and industrial partners, the company has made significant progress in robotic control and simulation environments, and its devices are now widely used in relevant fields. These practical applications not only validate the maturity of the underlying technology but also continue to drive the process of broader industrial adoption. By combining high-fidelity haptic hardware with an open and scalable software architecture, Haply Robotics has effectively lowered the barrier to entry for advanced robotic control, providing flexible automation solutions for both industry and research sectors, and supporting the upskilling of the workforce.
